New Year’s Resolutions: Person of Interest and Elementary

Let us continue my New Years Resolutions with Person of Interest and Elementary. This should have been done last week, but because of CBS’s epic fail of a website, I didn’t know the return dates until it was too late. CBS, I am officially calling you out. Get your writers and show handles active on Twitter and update your website to include return dates a month in advance. Affiliate The CW, I’m looking at you too.

Beginning with Person of Interest, where I really can’t complain. I wanted more Finch, and Bear came along to increase his activity. I would LOVE to see more of Root, not just because Amy Acker is amazing, but I have a feeling that it would become too Red John if they went that way. And that is NOT something I want to be seeing any time soon.

elementaryAs for Elementary, I think tonight they’re actually going to do what I’ve wanted from the beginning: MORIARTY! Seriously, did we have to wait this long, or were you so unsure of your future that you didn’t want to introduce major plot arcs until you were more sure of your future? Safe and steady, CBS, safe and steady.

But I actually like Elementary. It can actually keep my interest, unlike BBC’s Sherlock. It also delves far more into the psychology of the criminals than any other crime drama that I’ve seen (although I will say that I have a tendency to avoid Jerry Bruckheimer things…). I love how the end is never really the end. There is so much more to learn about the criminals than we usually get. Elementary‘s criminals aren’t just criminals. They’re actual people.

About Merry Merino

It has recently come to my attention that I enjoy television too much. So I figure I should have a centralized location for all my fun theories and thoughts on the matter, frivolous and not, and sharing them to random strangers has far too much appeal than it should.
